In 2012 Cabasa Carnival Arts worked in collaboration withGlobal Grooves and No Eyed Theatre to present Junk Jam at Manchester Day Parade (June) and Manchester Jazz Festival (July). With rich colour, fiery energy, vibrant choreography, and provoking masks, Junk Jam 2012 made inventive use of recycled and reclaimed materials to proudly demonstrate the possibilities of community carnival art

This project was the best yet for me, it looked absolutely incredible and all of the different elements really came together on the day. When the all drummers had the masks on at the back it was breath taking! Also the giant golden butterfly was a highlight for me. Who knew junk could look and sound this good?!
